Frequently Asked Questions
What licenses and certifications do I need before I can start spraying?
You need a few things stacked together: an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate, a Class 3 medical, a 44807 exemption, a Part 137 agricultural aircraft operator certificate, and your state-level pesticide applicator license. Sounds like a lot — and it is. That's exactly why we built our FastPass program. We handle the federal filings and walk you through the state requirements so you're not spending five months Googling forms while your competitors are already spraying.
How long does it actually take to get licensed and start flying?
If you do it yourself, you're looking at 4 to 6 months. The FAA alone can take 120 to 160 days to process your 44807 exemption. If you're approved into our FastPass program, we can get you operational in as little as 2 weeks. We file everything on your behalf and let you operate under our Part 137 certificate while your own paperwork processes. That's the difference between spraying this season and watching it pass you by.
How much does the full equipment setup cost?
The T100 complete drone kit starts at $39,999. That gets you the airframe, batteries, and charger. Most operators also need a trailer, generators, and extension cables to run a real field operation — figure on budgeting for a full mobile rig. We put together custom quotes based on what you're actually going to spray and where, so the number matches your situation, not some generic package.
Is financing available? What does that look like?
Yes. We offer financing at 5.75% fixed rate with 3-year terms. You don't need an existing business entity to qualify — we see people with a credit score of 680 or higher gets you approved. If you're upgrading from a T50, that trade-in is valued at $6,000+, which can eliminate your down payment entirely. We've structured this so the monthly payment is something you can cover with a handful of spray jobs. Get financing information. Estimate your Payment
Do I need a farming background or agricultural experience to do this?
No. A lot of successful operators come from completely unrelated fields — we've helped airline pilots, construction guys, military veterans, people who've never set foot on a farm, or never flown a drone. What matters is that you're willing to learn the system and put in the work. We provide training, and you'll pick up the ag knowledge fast once you're in the field talking to farmers.
How do I find farmers who want drone spraying services?
This is the question everyone asks, and it's more straightforward than people think. Start with agricultural supply dealers — the guys selling chemical, fertilizer, and seed already have the relationships. Connect with your state agricultural aviation association. Go wherever farmers are.
What kind of training and support do I get after I buy?
You get free coaching with every drone kit. We set up your drone, run through the system, and you leave ready to fly. If something breaks mid-season, we are a DJI Authorized Service Center and fully stocked service department you can call.
Can I realistically pay off my equipment in the first season?
Many of our customers spray over 10,000 acres in their first year and pay off their equipment in year one. The math works if you're putting in the effort to build your customer base early and you're ready to go when spray season hits. The operators who plan ahead — making connections, building relationships & getting licensed before spring — are the ones who see the fastest payback.
When should I start if I want to spray this coming season?
Now. Seriously — if you're at all interested, you'll be thankful for starting as early as possible to give you time to for licensing, building customer relationships and getting familiar with the equipment. Every week you wait is a week closer to watching spray season happen without you. Call us today and we'll tell you exactly where you stand and what it takes to be field-ready.
